Readers Enjoy Benefits Of Electronic Editions

As people live busier lives, they look for convenience anywhere they can find it. Electronic books (eBooks) seem tailor made for todays busy person.

Rhondall Rapoza of Hawaii, an expert in the ePublishing business, says "People love the convenience of eBooks. What's needed now is more people to create them."

People love eBooks for a number of reasons.

* eBooks can be read on a computer, a dedicated eBook reader or a hand held device such as a Palm Pilot, making them totally portable.

* eBooks allow for keyword searches, underlining text, and more.

* With eBooks, your PC acts as a bookshelf, eliminating the need for books that gather dust and take up much needed space.

* A typical eBook reader can hold up to 10 standard length novels and fit in your jacket pocket. The palm size devices are even smaller.

In early 2000, the world was introduced to the power of the eBook by no less than Stephen King. King released his latest book in eBook format only for $2. Within one week, over 500,000 copies had been sold.

eBooks have opened new markets for Internet entrepreneurs. New software makes creating eBooks easy for anyone to do. Individuals who want to work at home, full time or part time, can now become eBook publishers and help fill the growing demand for eBooks.

"How to" books are especially popular in the eBook format. Often selling for much less than their paper counterparts, these books are accessible just when and where you need them. eBooks are being sold over the Internet through such mega sites as Amazon or Barnes and Noble and by independent publishers via their websites.

So the next time you are in the mood for a good read, log on instead of making a trip to your local library.
