New At Fictionwise: Additional Authors & Stories

Fictionwise.com (http://www.fictionwise.com) has signed three major authors: Kate Wilhelm, Pamela Sargent and David Langford. Their stories are now in production and will begin coming online in various eBook formats by early July.

Kate Wilhelm, a multiple award winning science fiction and mystery author, has granted Fictionwise.com exclusive eBook rights to 23 of her most critically acclaimed short works, including such notable stories as "And the Angels Sing," "The Look Alike," and "Forever Yours, Anna." With this acquisition, Fictionwise.com will have the largest collection of Kate Wilhelm eBook short works available anywhere.

Pamela Sargent is a Nebula award-winning author who has received widespread critical acclaim. Fictionwise has obtained eBook rights to 12 of her science fiction, fantasy, and alternate history stories, including her Nebula award winning novella "Danny Goes to Mars."

David Langford is perhaps the most recognized fan writer of all time, with over a dozen Hugo awards for his fanzine, Ansible. But he is also a frequent contributor of fine science fiction and horror stories to several of the most prominent "Best of the Year" anthologies. Langford has granted Fictionwise eBook rights to 10 of his stories, the largest collection of his work available on the web.

"Fictionwise is striving to become the recognized leader in eBook short fiction, and these three fine writers add new depth to our offerings," commented Steve Pendergrast, co-publisher at Fictionwise.com.

"It's exciting to put classics like "Danny Goes to Mars," and "Another Orphan" into eBook format and open the door for these authors to new audiences," added co-publisher Scott Pendergrast. "We have discovered at Fictionwise that Palm Pilots and Rocket eBook Readers are attracting new fans of short fiction while also helping others re-discover their love of great fiction."
