Library conference to examine how eBooks expand patron services
“Your eBook is overdue” is a phrase you
are not likely to hear from the librarians attending the eBooks in the Public
Library Conference on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 in New York City. This one day

and technology vendors to exchange experiences and challenges as eBooks become
available for library systems and their patrons.
The conference keynote will be presented by Daniel L.
Walters, the Executive Director of Library Journal’s 2003 Library of the Year,
the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. Under his leadership the library
has received acclaim for its use of technology, electronic services, and
eCommerce. Mr. Walters also serves as Chair of the Public Library
Association’s Technology in Public Libraries Committee.
In addition to Mr. Walters, presenters include librarians
from New York Public Library, King County Library System, Cleveland
Public Library, Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library and New York
